Made between 1982 and 2001, the FM2 is an advanced semi-professional camera. It is all mechanical and will work without a battery. This is unusual as most cameras from this period have an electronically controlled shutter. The meter, though, does need a battery. Has shutter speeds upto 1/4000 second.

This is the third version of the camera:
- it has a 1/250 flash sync speed
- an 'N' before the serial number
- a later aluminium (non-honeycomb) shutter
